Our favorite places in December

The sky is grey, the weather is cold? The holidays are approaching, let yourself be carried away by sparkling red, the colour we need most in these winter days.

1. To experience a feast for the eyes at Baccarat

To speak of the most sublime crystal red is inevitably to think of Baccarat. Born in 1839 thanks to a 24k gold tip inserted into molten crystal, this mesmerizing red has become the Maison's signature. To admire it up close, head to the 16th arrondissement and its private mansion: Maison Baccarat, a place as chic as it is steeped in history.

Inside, everything shimmers softly: red reflections, dancing light, and iconic pieces that tell the story of the master glassmakers' expertise. You wander as if in a Parisian dream, between craftsmanship, poetry, and crystal brilliance.

And then comes the break: a coffee under the Orangery, a moment in the Garden, or a glance upwards in the Ballroom. Before leaving, a quick stop at the shop… just to leave with a little sparkle in your eyes.

2. The Christine Cinema Club's Secret Little Thrill

There are certain places that make those in the know wince. A kind of quiet joy, shared only among initiates. For film lovers, the Christine Cinema Club has exactly that effect.

In the 6th arrondissement, movie theaters have the feel of old friends: a little battered, always loyal, and fiercely Parisian. We learn there, we get lost there, we grow up there. The Christine Cinéma Club is one of these places steeped in history, two theaters that seem to whisper "between here and elsewhere" to all who walk through the door.

Today, the rooms have regained their colours without losing their slightly vintage charm, the kind that makes you want to sit down, breathe and let the magic begin.

Here, nothing is entirely predictable. In December, we slip into Malina (1991) with Isabelle Huppert, as if opening a letter found in a winter coat. For the rest, it's up to you to explore. Christine isn't something you can describe: it's something you discover, one film at a time, like a gift that falls from the everyday.
